Hurricane Harvey

*edited to add articles as I read them, that touch my heart.

Here are just a few things I have read that I am in awe of as people continue to come to grips with Harvey.

Here is an article that was written by someone who went through it, someone who teaches on the Providence of God.

Here is an article from Fox news called - Where is God in the terrible tragedy in Houston.

Here is a prayer from Anne Graham Lotz.

Here is a story that is beautiful.

Here is the BEST mom story I have read.  So sad, but so beautiful.

Max Lucado's post.

President Trump declares tomorrow, September 3rd, as a National Day of Prayer.

Some neat things that I have seen/heard about - neat ways to help:

-from your iPhone you can text 90999 and type in HARVEY and it will donate 10 dollars to the Red Cross' response to Hurricane Harvey victims. *verify with your carrier that this is correct

-a lot of grocery stores (like WalMart) are setting up bins in the front of their store to collect items (nonperishables, water, blankets, diapers...) and will deliver it to Harvey victims.  They also provide you with the option to donate (1, 2, 5 or more dollars) to Red Cross relief efforts after you swipe your card.

-Samaritan's Purse has people on the ground and they are accepting sign ups from those interested in traveling/helping with the clean - up.  Samaritanspurse.org

-check with your local church or Bible study about setting up a special collection or if you live close enough getting together a group of volunteers to go down there and serve.

-The Vintage Pearl is selling Texas necklaces and 50% of the proceeds go towards Houston.

Let's keep praying.  Every day, long after the shock has worn off from us, the reality will be devastating to so many.
