What I read this week and what today means...

What I read this week :

I read the first half of Studies in the Sermon on the Mount by Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones.  I have been through the first half of this book as a study book (with companion Bible study by Kari Denker) more than once, but I decided that I wanted to read it as a whole book in addition to using it as a Bible study so I could get a bird's eye view of the sermons as a whole that Dr. Lloyd-Jones preached.  It is SO, soooo, SO good.  I want to read the second half of the book next week.

I wrapped up my Lent study Journey to the Cross by Will Walker and Kendal Haug.  I started off Inst*gramming my way through the study, but as the weeks progressed, I found myself wanting to just treasure the moments in my heart instead of sharing them.  I HIGHLY recommend this book.  It is amazing.

I also went ahead and read Enola Holmes and the Case of the Peculiar Pink Fan.  Once again Nancy Springer has totally knocked it out of the park.  I LOVE this series so much.  It is super cute.

Today is Good Friday.

I love this day so very much, because today Jesus bore our sins on the cross and because of that we have the hope of heaven.  And that is the most precious, precious promise available.  This weekend, my husband, girls, and I are watching an older Secret Church called "Who is God?" (it is number four) and WOWZERS - it is amazing.

(Speaking of reading, we have been repeatedly reading the book of Jonah in preparation for Secret Church on April 21st.   If you haven't read this tiny little book (it is only four chapters and is located in the Old Testament tucked between Obadiah and Micah), take a few minutes to read through it, and then consider joining David Platt as he teaches through it for this year's Secret Church on April 21st.)
