In her early thirties, Cassie Beaumont desperately wants to be married, with children, sending out her own "perfect" Christmas card. Her good friend and co-worker Angie has been as unsuccessful in love as Cassie. This is probably what makes Angie's suggestion of a professional matchmaker (a VERY expensive matchmaker) so surprising. But at this point, Cassie is desperate enough to try *and pay* just about anything to get her perfect scenario: A Christmas card showcasing her own very handsome husband, with happy children, dressed in matching outfits perched on someone's fridge.
Enter Simon.
The matchmaker genius who will help pair Cassie with her "perfect" match.
What unfolds is a light, sweet romance coupled with several Christmas mishaps. It is a sweet, albeit fluffy, read.
I also read The 40-Day Feast (posted my review for this in my last post) and skim/read Dr. Robert Lesslie's 60 Ways to Lose 10 Pounds. I skipped the Bariatric surgery chapters and skimmed the chapters on weight loss drugs, because neither of those categories contained the information I was reading to learn more about. Anyway, I just heard about Robert Lesslie this past week as I was downloading and setting up my Brighter Winter Reading Challenge. One of the categories was choose a Medical Memoir to read...usually I try to steer clear of books on medical subjects, as these stir up waaaay too much anxiety. But, long story short, they suggested this author and his book called Angels in the ER. I plan to read that one for the Brighter Winter Challenge, but as I was looking at his page on Amazon I stumbled across this title and YAY my library had a copy! I found his book '60 Ways' to be well written (not dry or boring at all as some of these books can be) and to contain useful information that is easy to put into practice right away.
