Love Your Bible

There is an account on In*st*g*r*m that I follow that is called The Loved Bible Project.  Have you heard about this project?  It is the NEATEST idea.

You take a Bible and highlight the passages that point to the Gospel, write small notes in it, and give it away.  The website has the entire story (just click on the link above or right here ) and read it for yourself.

Every year I choose a word of the year to kind of guide my attention and focus for the year.  2023 was 'purge' and it worked.  It kept us going all year long with the mindset of pare down, declutter, and then pare down some more.

This next year, I am choosing a phrase instead of just a single word.

I am choosing 'The Loved Bible' as our phrase.  We are going to love as many as we can and give away as many as we can.

These past few weeks have been brutal.  We are going through a rough period of time with adjusting meds and coping with the fallout from that.  The past two years have provided with me with an awareness that has changed the entire way I approach trying to explain our lives to other people.

1) Unless you live with or care for someone with chronic health issues, mental illness, and/or special needs, then there is NO way you can understand the roller coaster of events.

2) Our lives will not always make sense to other people.  And that is ok.  It is not my job to make them understand and/or accept that.

3) This is not just my story to tell, so less is always more when sharing.

4) Life can be beautiful and messy and hard and glorious all at the same time.

5) Aim for good moments, and give thanks for those.

6) Pray through the tough ones.

7) Sing hymns.

8) Go ahead and talk about the hard and what isn't working and what is SO unfair, BUT make sure you end with what is working, what is such a blessing, and what you are SO thankful for. Because when it is all said and done, those are the moments that you want to remember when you drift off to sleep at night.

9) The most important I have left for last - think about, sing about, talk about, meditate upon WHO GOD IS.  Get His Word into you so that you have a heart full of truth to turn to - ESPECIALLY during a hard day.
