This has been one of those weeks...a week where the books I chose - all of them struck out. I finished this one, but found it supremely hopeless and unbelievable. I would not take the time to read it again, nor would I recommend it to anyone else. With that said, this quote gives such insight that I had to note it down:
"A man could be outwardly obedient, but tardiness revealed the inner determination, proof that slavery affects only the body. It does not include possession of the heart." pg. 35
Ugh.
Hate when a book leaves me feeling depressed and hopeless and mad at myself for wasting the time to read it. Hoping the next book is better.
