OK, so, for a large part of the story I did NOT like Meg (the main character)...at all. For probably the first 2/3 of the book I focused on just getting through the book so that I could log it and move on. But then, as the the last 1/3 of the book unfolded, I cried and laughed and finally enjoyed the story.
After finishing it, I lay there and thought over what I just read. Generational sin is a real thing. Parents and grandparents rarely realize the lasting impact of their words and actions - the ripple effect that touches generations of hearts (good and bad) - and this book PERFECTLY illustrates that. Highly recommend reading.
I also read Faking Christmas by Cindy Steel. SUPER cute.
Don't know if I'd have the patience to finish a book I wasn't enjoying. Glad it paid off for you.
